Estimator

General Summary

This position reports to the Lead Estimator and is responsible for preparing quotes and estimates for pre-engineered steel
buildings and miscellaneous material orders.

 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Establish and maintain effective communication with Customer Service Representatives.

Responsible for producing accurate and timely quotations derived from “Request for Quote” forms and any additional
supporting documents or plans received from Customer Service. Utilize MBS software and/or any other approved tools to
generate these quotations. Verify that the quotation outputs are consistent with the inputs received from the Customer
Service.

Produce manual “take-offs” from plans and specifications.

Assist Customer Service Reps in turning quotes into orders.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required For Essential Job Functions

• Associate’s degree or higher in construction-related fields and demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Strong math and geometry skills.
• Experience with metal building systems or knowledge of other building systems including bridge systems.
• Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.
• Fluent in the English language and good communication skills.
• Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  

 

Physical Abilities Required

Ability to communicate verbally, eyesight, hearing, hand dexterity sufficient to operate computer monitor, keyboard, as well
as other ordinary office equipment items such as telephone, calculators, copiers, etc.
